This dress was such an inspiration to create! It started from a simple drawing of the poinciana flower. This piece is a combination of the drawing and the 3-dimensional embroidery of the flower.
The skirt is a bias cut of two pieces overlapping with an embroidered trim hem with elastic at the back and an invisible zipper enclosure . The mid section I a combination of individual embroidered poincianas to create an interesting mid point if this dress. It’s finished of with a pleated cotton voile top in a complementary tangerine color.
